In a major milestone for Malaysian creative tech and cultural tourism, Dream Forest Langkawi has officially launched its virtual metaverse experience, developed with the support of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) under the IP360 Metaverse Initiative.
This digital twin allows virtual travellers around the globe to explore the mythical realm of Sang Gedembai and experience Langkawi’s legendary folklore from anywhere in the world.
Bridging Physical Eco-Tourism and Virtual Realms
While the physical Dream Forest Langkawi night walk immerses visitors across 1.2km of prehistoric rainforest in Lubuk Semilang, the Metaverse edition translates this enchanted world into an interactive 3D environment.
Produced by Enfiniti Interactive Xperiences, the virtual experience features interactive quests, 3D character avatars of Sang Gedembai, Princess Mambang Sari, and King Merong Mahawangsa, and gamified storytelling elements.
